Measuring a room for a desk

Northline Workshop is a fictional furniture workshop used only for software acceptance testing. Before choosing a desk, measure the available floor area and allow space to move the chair. Measure doorways and the route into the room as well as the final placement. Note where sockets, windows and radiators are located. Write down the height, width and depth of the existing desk if you have one. Consider the equipment you need to keep on the desktop and leave room for ordinary movement. This article offers a measurement checklist, not a promise that a particular desk will fit. Readers can browse the care guide for information on looking after a wood surface.
